1. The global market of synthetic biology continues to grow

According to the "China Synthetic Biology Industry White Paper 2024", the global synthetic biology market has grown from US$5.3 billion in 2018 to over US$17 billion in 2023, with an average annual growth rate of 27%. It is expected to maintain rapid growth in the future, the economic impact of synthetic biology and biomanufacturing is likely to reach up to US$100 billion in 2025; and in the next 10 to 20 years, synthetic biology industry may have a direct economic impact of US$2-4 trillion/year globally.
