17α-hydroxyprogesterone is an important intermediate for the synthesis of steroidal corticosteroids and steroidal progestin drugs. Taking it as raw material, more than ten kinds of commonly used progestin drugs such as medroxyprogesterone acetate, cyproterone acetate, megestrol acetate and hydroxyprogesterone caproate can be produced. Taking it as raw material, 11β,17a-dihydroxyprogesterone can be obtained by microbial fermentation from 17α-hydroxyprogesterone, and be used to produce more than ten kinds of common corticosteroid drugs such as hydrocortisone, prednisone, betamethasone and prednisolone acetate.
