What is Vitamin D3?
Vitamin D3/ Cholecalciferol is a fat-soluble vitamin involved in several critical bodily processes, including calcium and phosphorus absorption, bone health, and muscle growth and development. It is sometimes called the sunshine vitamin because your skin cells naturally produce it in response to sun exposure. However, vitamin D3 is found naturally in very few foods, the best sources are the flesh of fatty fish and fish liver oils. Smaller amounts are found in egg yolks, cheese, and beef liver, it can be difficult to meet your needs through diet alone. That is why many people may wish to take a vitamin D3 supplement, especially if they don’t regularly get sun exposure or consume foods fortified with vitamin D3.
